Scribbles is a new ELA-connected musical for elementary audiences by Atlanta playwright Laura King with original music by Katie Berger Wood (composer of The Ugly Butterfly) that explores the courage it takes to face life changes, and the true meaning of home. When siblings Avery and Jesse move into a new house, they feel lost among the packing boxes–until they discover Scribbles, a playful, magical guide who transforms ordinary cardboard into extraordinary adventures. Together, the trio embarks on an imaginative journey by boat, plane, and rocket, learning that home is not just a place, but anywhere you feel safe, comfortable, and loved.

Scribbles and the Journey Home will make its World Premiere in libraries and community spaces in Fall 2026, and it will tour schools in Fall 2026 and Spring 2027! A classroom guide including connections to state standards will be provided for participating schools.
